Nokia Normandy Will Be Named as Nokia X and On Sale

Nokia’s first Android smartphone will not be known as Normandy as the rumors suggests, instead it will be named differently.

The new name of Nokia Normandy is Nokia X , the latest information was leaked by evleaks. Reliability remains a mystery, however Nokia-Normandy-X-Android-1evleaks are most of the time accurate in their release. On the Tweet, @ evleaks posted a message “Project Normandy = Nokia X”. According to that post, the project “Normandy” will be phone ‘Nokia X’.

As you already know, Nokia Normandy / Nokia X is yet to be released in the last week of FEB 2014. Nokia also has posted an ad on the press conference about the release at the upcoming MWC.

Will Normandy Nokia phones running Android be named as “Nokia X”?

Currently, all the leaked images show that Normandy is an Android phone from Nokia. The device is expected to have FWVGA screen resolution and is similar to Nokia Asha phones. It looks like the device also supports 2 SIMs and Nokia is looking to target mid range market in the developing countries.

Update:  A popular Vietnamese online retailer Thegioididong.com has listed Nokia X / Normandy phone on their website for sale (coming soon). The retailer has posted some specs about the device which says that it supports Google services such as Google Play, Google Search, Google Now, Maps, Gmail, YouTube.

Let’s wait and see, what will be the final release.
